History of the Organization :-
Journey of this organization started from 2001. A small group of young people started to dream to do
some social works. The first step was a little magazine to aware people for social change naming ” Unmader Pathakram” means “Lunatic syllabus of young people”. Then we started another little magazine naming“Uttar Dakshin” means “Grass root connection between North Bengal and South Bengal”. Where we focused the contemporary various topics like violation of Human Rights, forest conservation and Land Movements etc throughBengali Poem, Story, Article and Colummns.
In the year 2006 we got a survey work in the district Dakshin Dinajpur related to ‘Backward Village Study’monitoring by North Bengal University and sponsored by SRD. This major break in our social activity inspired us toset up an NGO (Society). Finally we got registration of our society on 20th Dec’2007 in the name of “Ujjiban Society forSocial Economic Environmental & Rural Development” under West Bengal Socities Registration Act XXVI of 1961.

Dakshin Dinajpur District in Eight Blocks
Major Activities:
1. We, Ujjiban Society are implementing Individual Household Latrine installation and Mass Awareness
Programme, door to campaign, follow-up, Para Meeting etc at three Gram Panchayat namely Dhalpara, Panjul and Binshira Gram Panchayat under Hili Block, Dakshin Dinajpur, Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan for Sanitation in three Gram Panchyat and now Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) & Mission Nirmal Bangla from 24th August 2010 by the permission of the Additional Executive Officer, Dashin Dinajpur Zilla Parisad.
2. We, Ujjiban Society are Maintaining of ROGI SAHAYATA KENDRA at Hili Rural Hospital from 3rd March, 2016. It is under Rastriya Shasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY), Central Govt.
3. We, Ujjiban Society are performing and co-operating with District Legal Services Authority, Dakshin Dinajpur from 12 February, 2013 to till date and we also ensuring Human Rights of the downtrodden people basically Women and Child all over the District through Free Legal Advocacy.
4. We, Ujjiban Society have been included in Inter Agency Group (IAG) of Disaster Management, Dakshin Dinajpur to render our duties in the field of Disaster Management under guidance of District Disaster Management Section from 09th June 2017.
5. We, Ujjiban Society have been included in District Level Monitoring Committee (Bio-Medical Waste Management) under Chief Medical Officer of Health Dakshin Dinajpur from August, 2018.
6. Awareness Builds about RTI Act 2005 (Right to Information Act) in the eight Block in Dakshin Dinajpur District from August 2008.
7. Awareness Builds about RTE Act 2009 (Right to Education Act) in Balurghat, Hili, Kumarganj and Tapan Block from 2013.
8. Awareness Builds and support to Helpless women through Domestic Violence Act 2005 in Hili Block from 2011.
9. Protection of Human Trafficking through the eight Block in District Dakshin Dinajpur from 2008.
10. Mother Health Care related to awareness programme in the four Block in the District from 2009.
11. Social Awareness with various issues.
12. Ujjiban Society are performing and co-operating with SAG - KP from january 2022.
Achievements of the Organization:
Successfully reported “Backward Village Study” financed by North Bengal University and Sponsored by SRD. Successfully reported Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) campaign supported by PRIA, Kolkata in 2009-10 Information and Culture Affairs Department (GoWB) sponsored versatile public relation campaign, successfully completed through different types of activities.
To empower SHGs through workshops, meetings and awareness programs.
To strengthen CBO formation through different types of activities.
Constantly working Right to Information (RTI) and Right to Education ( RTE) awareness activities.
To build-up social relation between two countries (Indo-Bangladesh) through “Rakhi Bandhan Utsab”, ‘EKUSHE
FEBRUARY, INTERNATIONAL MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY’ from 2006 to till date.
To aware people in boarder areas to stop “Women Trafficking”.
Successfully completed Annual Performance Assessment of ISGP for the District Dakshin Dinajpur from 2012 to 2018, by Sutra Consultant Kolkata.
Successfully campaigning and awareness on HIV/AIDS.
Successfully installation individual Household latrine under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan for Sanitation in three Gram Panchyat and now Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) & Mission Nirmal Bangla.

We, Ujjiban Society are performing and co-operating with SAG – Kanyashree Convergence Programme for the 1st January 2022 to 31st March 2023 in Hili ICDS project, Govt. West Bengal.
We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked, and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved, and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty.
